Canning and Kindergarten

Last week my Mom called and said that she had way to many tomatoes and asked if I would like to come over and make homemade spaghetti sauce, so she could get rid of the tomatoes. So off I went to learn another form of canning. I am greatfull that my Mom has this knowledge and will teach me. I am getting more and more into learning how to can food and want to build my food storage. On another note, Zachary started Kindergarten today. let me tell you, my nerves have been on end all weekend because of this. I know the kid is smart and he will do just fine, I am just nervous. He will do good, and he will make it home off the bus ok. I'm just a worry wort, and life goes on!

New school year and New construction

Today is the 1st day of school for the 2010/2011 school year. the school fairy came and left the kids backpacks, underwear, socks, pencils, ect.
after the bus came and went,

I took Zachary over to meet his kindergarten teacher Mrs. Rasband, and to get Emily off the bus because of the new school construction in the back of the school, I wanted to see what they were going to do with the kids in the mornings, this year is going to be a tricky one because there is no playground area anymore due to the new building. Other than that I am glad school started today, the kids really need to be back.

July Happenings!

Today we went to Rockport Reservoir with Jon, Rena and Jacob. The kids enjoyed swimming, digging and fishing. Jon and Paul to the boat out and caught their limit within the hour, then took the kids on the tube. After they took the kids out to fish, this was Zachary's first time and he did really well and caught 2 fish. Emily caught 1 fish and Jacob caught 3. 14 fish total were caught. Rena and I enjoyed a lovely day sitting on the beach with nothing to do at all. I think all mothers should enjoy a day like today just once in a while. What a fun day!

so other July happenings, on the 24 of July we had our annual Levan Town celebration with a parade and throwing little beach balls off of the Fire truck, and the bouncy castles in the park.

Last Thursday, the 29th was Jacobs 10th birthday, so we took the kids during the day to Cowabunga bay water park and had a lot of fun.

and now on to August and 23 more days until school starts!

My Baby is 5!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Zachary today. I can't believe that his already 5 and ready to go to kindergarten. Paul is out of town and does not get back until tonight so today I took Zach, Emily, and Jacob to McDonald's and to get Zach his birthday balloons and then we came home and watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, it was a really good movie. after the movie I let Zachary open one of his birthday gifts because the other one is for when we have cake and Ice Cream on Sunday. He got a Ben 10 ultimatrix. It is all the rage.

Last year we did weekly summer crafts to keep the kids entertained and to keep them from rotting in front of the TV. this year's first creation is library bags. I have started taking the kids to the Library on Tuesday mornings and they love it. here is a picture of the finished product.
