Sunflower Harvest!

This year I started some Mammoth Sunflowers from seed......Well, lets just say that I have never grown such BIG Sunflowers before. We got to looking at them now that they are drooping and done growing. They had some massive sunflower seeds in them, so we decided to look up how to harvest them. So far so good. here are the pics of just the 3 biggest ones. we saved some seeds to grow next year (hope they work).

Back to School! yay!!!!

It's finally here! Back to School 2013/2014. The kids started at a new school this year. Elk Meadows Elementary. Lots of new friends to meet, at the same time we really miss our old school Oakwood and send our love to all our friends there. Hope this year is a good one. Yay for school!

The tale of a yard!

So this is what our yard looked like when we started looking at the house in April 2012. With A LOT of had work. Blood, sweat, and tears this is what is looks like in August 2013.

Where has the time gone?!?!

This summer, I am just a big ball of nerves. I am sorry to admit that, and even sorrier for my children. Needless to say, not much has gone on this summer and I am so ready for school to start this year. I Don't know what to expect from the new school, but bring it on! This last month, we had a fun filled 4th of July, Zach got baptized and went to Cub country scout camp for two days. Things are moving along a a really slow pace but we are making it. Hopefully I wont feel this nervous for much longer. Yay for Home ownership!

Fathers Day Gifts and injurys!!

Lots going on at our house in the last month. The kids finished school. That was a sad, sad day for all of us. Some tears were shed and lots of see you laters...no goodbyes! then we got onto Summer vacation, and onto the "Mom I am board......." routine. This too shall pass! just today, we had our first injury of the summer....no, it was not one of the kids. It was me!! yeah, I tried to cut off my finger while we were having activity days at my house. I cut a nickel size chunk off of my left index finger. Oh boy does it hurt, and I feel really, really stupid. You have got to love a calling that you can injure yourself in!! no, I really love my calling and all the girls that come to activity days. Sad day at the Bateman home....Bingo, our feeder fish that was won at the ward summer party playing a bingo game,(hence the name), has gone to the big fish bowl in the sky. Sad kids tonight.
