Halloween 2010

This year the Halloween spirit was not really there. Halloween was on Sunday, we went Trick or Treating on Saturday and it rained, Zachary got sick with the stomach flu, and my heart was just not into it. on a more happier note, with all the Halloween parties I got some cute pictures of the kids. enjoy the many festive pictures.

Oakwood Elementary Red Ribbon Week 2010

In June, our PTA president Jenn called me to ask if I would be willing to plan Red Ribbon Week for our school this school year, I said that I would, and got started right away. "A slogan a day keeps the drugs away!" was my theme for this year. after I got this process underway, it went really well. After going out of town on a camping trip, and being on the ward activities committee and planning our ward party, this week finally came. we went everyday to give the kids candy and bracelets and all sorts of stay away from drugs stuff. We had a Drug free Slogan contest, which really turned out better than I even thought. We also had Miss Utah 2007 Heather Anderson and University of Utah Defensive back Lamar Chapman come for our Drug free assembly. Here are some of the images from the week. I am so glad that this went well and it if finally over.

Flaming Gorge 2010

It's that time of year again, The annual Bateman fall camping trip. This year we went to Flaming Gorge, or Flaming George if you want, that is what my kids kept calling it. we left on Tuesday night and got there about midnight. Wednesday we took the kids down to the water on the boat dock, one thing led to another and they were all in their underwear swimming off of the metal docks that were at the end of the ramp. All of the kids has a blast, and of course my son had to drop his pants in front of everyone and pee in the lake! just lovely.

on Thursday we all went into Vernal and went to the Dinosaur Museum. Vernal was not what I had expected, I thought it is a nice little town,it was actually bigger than I had pictured. We also drove by the Vernal Temple, what a cute little Temple.

Friday we went to see the Flaming Gorge Dam. we just missed taking the tour by one day, they closed it down for the season, but we did get to watch the movie, that was riveting.

Saturday morning Paul and the kids went down to the water for one more chance at fishing for the year, we found out the both of our children are preaty good fisherman.

we finally packed up camp and headed for home. on the way we had break trouble on the trailer, but it was quickly taken care of by disabling the breaks and we were on our way once more. when we got to Fort Bridger we were able to see the massive windmill farm that is out there.

What a cool thing to see, Paul and I wonder just how much power they produce??? that is something we will have to research. these pictures don't do it any justice, you will have to drive out and see for yourself. We made it home and now we have lots of laundry to do and our eating habits need to get back to normal. The weather was Beauty full and the overall trip was very needed.
